I started 4-H as a Cloverbud in Monroe Better Livestock, Preble County, Ohio 4-H. I was there 2 years (2009 and 2010). As a Cloverbud I couldn't take any projects. We did some worksheets and turned them in as a folder with the rest of the Cloverbuds. 
Then I moved to Indiana and was in Mini-4-H one year in Midway Mustangs, Spencer County in 2011. I got to do 6 projects! I did Abraham Lincoln, Farm Animals, Gardening, Foods, Pets, and Sewing. 

2012 was my first year as a regular 4-Her and I took 12 projects. A lot of people thought I was crazy, but if you start early and work at it a little at a time, it's not that hard. I took Poultry, Swine, Dairy, Sewing, Foods, Garden, Beekeeping, Entomology, Genealogy, Abraham Lincoln, Scrapbook, and Collections.

I'm already planning for 2013 and will take all 12 projects I took this year. I'm also thinking about adding a few new projects that I think will be helpful to me and my family and my community.

Exhibits that meet all requirements get a blue ribbon - they are judged only against the criteria for the project. (There are also red, white, and green ribbons.) Champion and Reserve Champion are rewarded to the best two blue ribbon recipients in the division or level as long as they are champion quality. Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion are the best of the champions as long as they are Grand Champion quality. Typically, each division and each project sends one representative to the State Fair for State Fair projects. (Some projects are county only.)
